PREDATOR

PREDATOR can send alert messages by Email or by SMS.
You configure these notifications with the Twitter settings in the Advances Options tab of the Preferences form.

Configuring PREDATOR for Email / SMS notifications

PREDATOR uses the Twitter DM notification service to alert you by Email or SMS.
2 distinct Twitter accounts are required:

• a Log account (its username is "PredatorLog" in the screenshot example)
• a Direct Message recipient account ("rigout" in the screenshot example)

These are just 2 ordinary Twitter accounts that you'll create for the purpose of sending email or SMS. You can name them like you want.

• the Log account will receive all PREDATOR's access-control events matching the level selected by the Level drop-down list.
• the Direct Message recipient account will receive the Direct Messages originating from the Log account and relay them to you by EMail and/or by SMS if they match the level selected by the DM Level drop-down list.

1. Allow Predator to access your Log account :

• Click the "Request Twitter PIN" button: this will start your brower and show Twitter's authorization dialog.
• Login to your Twitter Log account: Twitter will display a PIN number.
• Copy/Paste this PIN in Predator's "PIN" textbox and click the "Enter PIN" button.
• Predator will display your Twitter account name in the "Username" field ("PredatorLog" in the screenshot example).

2. Select a filtering level in the Level drop-down list. Warning is a good choice.

3. Enter the name of the Direct Message recipient account in the DM Recipient field ("rigout" in the screenshot example).

4. Select a filtering level in the DM Level drop-down list. Alert is a good choice: you'll be notified by Email or SMS only for intrusion attempts.

Configuring Twitter for Email / SMS notifications

1. In Twitter, make the Direct Message recipient account to follow the Log account: "rigout" must follow "PredatorLog" in the screenshot example.

2. Then configure the Direct Message recipient account to enable Email and/or SMS notifications:

• Email notifications: open Settings / Notices and check "Email when I receive a new direct message"
• SMS notifications: open Settings / Mobile and fill the required fields to enable text messaging

3. Click the "Ok" button to close the Preferences window and restart PREDATOR

4. Finally, reopen the Preferences window, click the Test button and check your mailbox/mobile phone.
